Handed from the taxpayer by the government to countries and organisations actively working against us, including Russia, China and IS.

Give or take a billion that is the amount of extra NIC that the Government collected from employers last year as a result of the increase in the rate paid by employers and the reduction in the point at which it starts.
This is the EXTRA amount paid by employers in a single year. Is it any surprise that businesses are closing or laying off staff?
When I first read that figure, I thought that I must have misread the article.

Ah, you've read an article in the Telegraph. It's sure to be well balanced but it does exemplify how corrupt the Tories were especially with their acceptance of £m's from Russion oligarch's.
Have you bothered to have a google and see how and where th UK foreign aid budget is spent and the soft power benefits it brings? Or is your post a result of a knee jerk reaction?
Do you realise there's a big part of that budget that goes to environmental disasters, ie floods & earthquakes.
Here's a few links to help you and others to get a real picture of how that £28bn is spent and the benefits it brings to the UK. Some of them are a long read but the articles will give you far more insight.

The £28bn is what was identified as not ending up where it was intended. That's all I am highlighting. It's a part of the whole amount across those 6 years not the whole amount of aid across those 6 years. But it doesn't surprise me that you have assumed I must be against foreign aid, which I'm not.
You come across as incredibly patronising. I wonder if anyone has ever told you that before? If not it's about time you heard it, because you are. Do everyone a favour and get down off that high horse Rik.outlaws is not the barometer of sanity. You're either Luton full tilt or you are nothing. We have spunked way too much money on shite. I have no doubt that administering foreign aid must be very challenging to make sure it gets to it's intended targets.
However, the bigger picture here, that many like to ignore, is that if we actually helped the poorer nations to flourish they would; be less likely to come to UK shores via illegal gangs/small boats etc. be less likely to harbour or indeed encourage terrorism towards western nations be less of a burden on our health and education systems for health/education tourists become more likely to enjoy healthy trading nations in a way that is mutually beneficial.
It's such short term blinkered nonsense to think cutting aid will be a significant step towards reducing our costs. Maybe it will temporarily and in the short term, but it is self-defeating in the longer term. Live justly, love mercy, perpetuate generosity, walk humbly.
