Wouldn't leave England, but moved to the Lake District and absolutely love it - if only there was a Kenilworth Road up here! If I had to leave it would be to Scotland - lovely part of the British Isles

Stopped off at Moffat on the way back from Skye. Had booked in to Walkerburn for 4-night getaway but had to postpone for medical reasons. Looking to rebook in the near future. Also a cruise to Lewis and Harris.

As I have posted before, we stayed in Moffat when we went to the Commonwealth Games twelve years ago - brilliant chip shop right opposite where we stayed - battered haggis and chips.

I'm guessing you mean the one just off the High Street by the war memorial? If so, yeah very good chippy back in the day. 22 years ago I lived in Moffat, and last visited about 4 years ago for a funeral. Frightening how quick time flies by actually.

As a child i remember having battered haggis and chips in Stranraer harbour car park in the days when it used to be a harbour there. 1986 I think it was.Live justly, love mercy, perpetuate generosity, walk humbly.
