You missed out the crucial bit that Worcester beat Ealing in the semi final. However I do agree it seems a bit odd including the team finishing top in effectively the play offs.
It's all pretty academic anyway as I don't believe any of the 4 clubs would meet the threshold conditions for joining the Premier League, even Ealing who win the Championship every year. Modern rugby union is rubbish.Henry Nowak RIP

Heard rumours that the Money Man from Ampthill has now bought the club, with a view to developing, which is going to be tough, as whole area is surrounded by a site of SSI
Ridiculous. I don’t see the point of play offs in leagues with low revenue anyway. If there has to be a play off then the model of the IPL finals should be considered. 1st plays 2nd and winner goes straight to final. 3rd plays 4th with winner taking on the loser of the first game to go to final. Rewards league position which is always a fair reflection of a season (except when match officials guess that a ball has crossed the line!!!).
