Overlong and unnecessary intro, and a couple of the entries are just preachy. But this list of reasons why tech makes life worse is mostly spot-on.

Yep very good. I work in IT and dislike almost every aspect of it.

Parking apps should be illegal. Qr codes for menus is infuriating. Needing an account for every bloody website.

Bloody clouds and everything needing access to one. Get in the bin

The problem is that 25 years ago everything got outsourced and offshored in IT. The received wisdom was you saved 50% of the cost and you got 70% of the quality. It didn't work. The cost got up to 85% of uk rates and the quality levels moved a bit but not much. The complex stuff came back and the real grunt work, including testing, stayed offshore. The problem is not the people by and large, except sometimes cultural scenario's, the problem is poor processes and internal systems, usually because of trying to save a penny on absolutely everything.

The truth is simple. If it was complicated, everyone would understand it.
