    Keep football out of politics

Did anybody watch Secret Service on ITV? It raised a very interesting point; when asked about a vote in Northern Ireland for reunification, the (Labour) minister says "Why don't we ask the English if they want independence, to break away from the Union?"

"We want you to say yes - fuck off scotland we want you to say yes" - chant around the independence vote.

As for NI - there is a mechanism in place with a sensible threshold. Think NI is a net drain on the UK taxpayer- question is do ROI want them and could they afford them?

It has to be question for those affected though - which really isnt the non NI UK taxpayer.

Froth, you do know that anyone with a claim to Irish citizenship (one of your 4 grandparents) has as more entitlements to residence in the UK and beyond?

You know that makes anyone born on the UK mainland with no right of a claim to an Irish passport a second class citizen in their own country I take it?

            Paddies out..!!

That's what the people voted of the UK voted for. They requested that they not have the same rights of freedom of movement that the Irish do.

              Asked and they did receive.

As a son of an IRA supporting fk stain i'd still like to see all four nations sticking together. Would also be nice if the ROI joined the union.
