That’s reduced the chances of Palmer returning from slim to none

He won’t be leaving a PL contract for a league One contract.

I doubt not getting picked or even on the Bench would appeal

Not sure many who featured today will be anywhere near playing in the Premier next season.

If they want to get rid of Coyle or Egan who are both knockkng on a bit I would be happy if we had them.

I know we cant afford them .

Just reading his blurb from the Hull website after he signed for them in 2024.

I would be surprised if his contract didn't have a PL bonus / wage increase built in.

I suspect a lot of our players did so it must be fairly commonplace across the industry.

Anyway, the fact we're in negotiations with Eli suggests to me we've got some wriggle room and won't be constrained as much as we perhaps thought we might be.

If he gets a PL wage increase for 9 promotion season appearances then he has the sort of agent everyone would be more than happy with

His contract won’t change. He wasn’t even in their squad. If anything it makes it more likely he will return on a permanent or another loan.

Hull clearly didn’t rate Palmer otherwise they wouldn’t have sent him out on loan, especially at his age. So now they are a PL club he’ll be even further down the pecking order. Hull will also be
looking to offload players to bring in new expensive signings. Think he’ll almost certainly be one of them. More risk however that a Championship club will sign him especially after impressing so much with us. We can live in hope though.

Speculation. Who knows? Maybe he has acquired a promotion bonus and prepared to accept a lower salary to be happy and playing. Why guess it?

Will he get a game in the Premier League with Hull ?
They will possibly push him out on loan again !

No he won’t. But he’s not leaving a PL wage to pick up a league 1 wage. I guess a loan isn’t out of the question but the wage contribution would still be too much I would have thought.

He's said before he's happy here because he can see his family more and do the school run. Does the extra Prem money outweigh that? Probably, but we can hope

The thing is that there's another club* even nearer to his home who are likely to be throwing big money at going straight up. Not getting him would be disappointing (albeit quite likely) but seeing him go there would make it feel far worse.

Money talks and he'll probably be happy to stay at Hull picking up possibly double this seasons wages now they're promoted. If Hull decide to sell we can't compete wages wise, and may be unable to pay the transfer fee. So I very much doubt he'll be back.

                    League one again ole ole

Surely his wage is his contract , just because they`ve gone up he don`t get more dosh ? what is 100% certain he won`t get a look in at Hull now ? One thing to know he lives just outside Woburn and his 3 kids are settled here, he made it known when he joined us on loan the travel to Hull and training wasn`t to his liking because he rarely saw his children . lets wait and see .
