Genuinely surprised he is being offered a new contract. Injury record has been bad and he is not getting any younger. I appreciate on his day he is probably a level or even 2 above L1 but he is enigmatic to say the least and seems to go into a rut. If he stays fit I can see him being a weapon but that is a big if. I am not saying it is a bad idea because any replacement would also have risks but I think we need at least 1 forward signing along side him to have resiliance for the season.

I imagine he'll get a better offer elsewhere. Missed a lot of football lately, but still worth a punt on a free for someone like Preston or Stoke because there's a chance of getting the pre-2025 Eli

He may do well in that role. He may not. Adebayo has been frustratingly inconsistent. Unplayably brilliant at times in the PL yet looked like he'd never been on a football pitch against Oxford (don't know if he actually played but club chosen for comparative purposes).
I won't be thrilled or disappointed if he re-signs, or leaves. One thing for sure though is that he can't be worse than what we were for 2/3 of last season.Live justly, love mercy, perpetuate generosity, walk humbly.

JW will play with one striker. Eli would be a good fit for this role.
I will be pleasantly surprised if we resign Eli, Vlark or Walsh.

But if we could have him on a contract such as a Pay To Play or something with a load of clauses to protect the club against further long term injuries, then it must be worth pursuing if there is willingness on both sides for him to stay.

Maybe he is settled in the area with wife and family. Hope all 3 stay but suspect they will get better offers financially elsewhere
