The Hatters have played 3 matches on this day, with the first being 60 years ago, in 1966, away at Halifax.
The other 2 games are, however, more recent and both of them were 2nd leg Championship play off semi final matches.
The first of these was 4 years ago, in 2022, when we lost 1-0 away at Huddersfield to lose the semi final 2-1 on aggregate.
However, pride of place goes to the second of those games, when we beat Sunderland 2-0 at home in the second leg of the semi final play off, to seal our place in the Final against Coventry City. What an atmosphere there was in Kenilworth Road that night and a match that will never be forgotten, both for those there and those others who were watching the match in pubs, clubs or at home.
