      Yea seems daft will just encourage more people to go abroad, especially when schools out and the ridiculous cost of accommodation already.

        The services visitors use are paid for or supported by locals. In areas full of tourists/visitors, why should it fall on the locals to pay for them as well to use those services? It’s only fair for them to do so. Redistribution is not corrupt. Hopefully it will help keep business rate increases down and support local businesses.

          Great idea, we get stung for this when we go abroad. That said, I wouldn't give the likes of Khan another penny to spend how he sees fit.

          Bringing more money in from tourists to pay for local services. Like many, many places do across the world already. So, it should help ease the pressure on local taxation and bring more money in from abroad.

            It’s another solid idea, certain folk want to badge up as more taxes, without admitting it reduces the burden on uk residents. Gets everyone hot under the collar and drives clicks / listens which is what media has now reduced itself to.
