    Bezos $100

Posted by Jake on 13/5/2026, 14:33:07

The Bezos family have given $100m to the Robin Hood charity, which helps fund education in the poorest areas of New York.

The world needs to see more philanthropy like this.
Fair play to them, let's hope they continue to give money they have no use for, to good causes.

With governments and local authorities close to bankrupt it us going to be crucial that the richest billionaires start to fill the gap.

Another token for a $10 Billion tax break.

The alternative view is that these people pay the least amount of tax they possibly can and then pick a project they fancy. Better to pay the right amount of tax so that more people are supported from general taxation.

The Billionaire economy is the issue! There's plenty of money, but its used to pamper the Billionaires and not drive economic growth.

Yeah fair play, it's equivalent to someone on 70k giving £35.

I agree, but it sets an example to other billionaires to follow suit.

Disagree, tax them properly, don't encourage them.

I also think they should be taxed more, but it doesn't take away from the fact that not all rich are benevolent.
