Power Court

Been looking at the latest drone footage from the various people who do this sort of thing. The amount of work that has been going on at ground level has been pretty impressive. From the footage you can now see where the stands are going to be on two sides of the stadium. There is one area where a huge hole in the ground is located. I thought it might be for a lift shaft but it looks to big for the stand. Any ideas what it might be? Its opposite the opening for the river.

There’s nothing obvious on the plans. But that stand (West Stand) is the new main stand, so it could literally be anything. 🤷🏻♂️

I think there's underground parking for team buses, service vehicles etc? Probably a lot of other infrastructure stuff too.

Interesting, hadn't heard about the underground parking plans.
I wonder if we'll figure it out before a big stand is plonked on top of it.

I can't think right now where I got that from, but fairly certain I've heard/read it.

I think, in the original unveiling with LLSC/The Trust in the Eric morecambe all those years ago, there was underground parking alongside a supermarket and that music venue

Yes, I'm pretty sure there was too, not sure I've seen it mentioned much in the more recent stuff though I haven't been through any latest plans in enough detail.

It was on here a while back. I started worrying about the implications of a fire bearing in mind more cars are likely to be electric in the future. I wrote an email to the club about it and got a pat on the head telling me not to worry my little head about it. I fucking hope not. How Luton would that be to watch the stadium burn down just after completion? outlaws is not the barometer of sanity. You're either Luton full tilt or you are nothing. We have spunked way too much money on shite. The end.

I think it's a bunker GS can hide in when the fans give him pelters.
Better get a move on with that part then.

For measure, in the time it’s taken for us to get this far (Planning Permission granted Jan 2019) it took less time build a 31 mile tunnel (in total) under the English Channel…

Construction maybe, but the whole process for the channel tunnel was 10 years+.
I think a fairer comparison is HS2
