    Violent play

Be interested to hear views from anyone who watched/listened to the discussion on MOTD regarding the sending off of Ballard on the above subject.

Both Rooney and Hart seemed to suggest that hair pulling and shirt pulling was all part of the physicality of playing football. Notwithstanding that, if there was to be a discussion on the issue of hair pulling (recently all such incidents have been around players with dreadlocks) you may have expected one of the pundits to be non white. I think they are likely to have had a different view about the incidents of hair pulling.

However, in the days when I had long hair I can never recall either my hair being pulled by a defender, or my shirt being grabbed at every opportunity. I’m not sure when these fouls become commonplace and considered acceptable, but I welcome changes which might lead to such actions happening less often.

Long hair will soon be in a hair net..it a temptation to pull it..also I have many times seen Palmer jump to head a ball..his hair flicks in face of someone jumping also..so before long I think something will change

I played a lot of rugby and for a so called gentleman's game it was less than gentlemanry.

Gouging uppercuts in a scrum raking, jumping on hands , even clothes lining, Rarely sending offs .

Hair pulling can be avoided by tieing your hair up
