Things I noticed last whilst out

Very few old 70s n 80s beers still on show
I opted for John Smiths however Worthington cream flow still available
My old dad always drank Mild& Bitter or a pint of “ Mixed” as he used to ask for in his village local. He used to detest those bloody Keg Beers from the Seventies, like Watneys Red Barrell or Greene King Keg…
I’m amazed still though to see youngsters drinking knats piss lager like Madri, and cruzcampo, absolute shite.
Au contraire RF, here I must come to Greene King's defence. Yes, with the exception of Abbot their beer was run of the mill, but it wasn't keg. It was always served on top pressure, i.e. with a blanket of CO2 on top to prevent oxidation.
The real offenders were Whitbread with their awful Tankard and Trophy, Ind Coope with Double Diamond, Courage's John Courage and Tartan bitter from S & N and of course the infamous Watney's Red Barrel. Can't remember what the other big brewer, Bass Charrington, served up, but it was still possible to get Bass and IPA on handpump if you knew where.
I wear my elbow patch with pride.Everybody talks... Some hear... A few listen... Almost nobody understands...
Not forgetting Whitbread BB, the runt in the Trophy/Tankard litter and my dad's staple 1970s lunchtime tipple in the Heron at weekends. People thought it meant 'best bitter' but my old man reliably (or otherwise) informed me it was a light mild.
I was a student in Birmingham in the 70s when the choice was between Ansells Bitter and M&B Brew X1. Thank goodness for CAMRA.
Always drank light and bitter in the Hansom Cab, as it made it less flat. Plus you always got a pint and a quarter! The last pint of the evening would always be Abbot drawn from a wooden pin (four and a half gallons) kept beneath the bar.
The Mother Redcap served the best Abbot in town though.Everybody talks... Some hear... A few listen... Almost nobody understands...
I remember being underage and working in a bar and the first person I had to serve asked for a Mickey Mouse and a Scotch and Threat. I had no idea what either were. The truth is simple. If it was complicated, everyone would understand it.
