    A common theme with Oldies

Over many years the worst experience and the hardest to take for weeks was Villa Park semi v Everton
At Wembley the Simod was awful but the York was dreadful
Chelsea ,we wouldn’t have scored if the match went on for 2 weeks
    Villa still hurts

Quick question (and I do know the answer) but can you remember what song we were all dancing around to, at half time, at Villa Park?

The whole end was still going mental.

How it ended was just gut wrenching as were so close, and were robbed. I still don't believe I have recovered.

No that would have been at the end.

It was Hanging on a String by Loose Ends.

          The whole end was bouncing

I agree that defeat was a sickener, but I honestly believe it allowed us to focus on avoiding relegation that season. If we had the detraction of Wembley we may well have been relegated.

          Come on England

Only consolation with Chelski was i backed Minnehoma to win the national at 33-1

We out played Everton that day! That one hurt me for weeks! Only other time that came close since to that feeling was 1990 Turin, when we (England) lost on pens to Germany... Led by the brilliant Gazza were by far the better team. Now I'm older and "wiser" realize its not that important... Villa park still hurts though!

We were brilliant that day at Villa park, how that ref gave a free kick for literally nothing still mystifies me to this day, it wouldn't even be given in today's none contact game.

Notts County was the worst, one nil up and lost to an already relegated team

We just rolled over that day.
I still can't stand Chris Kamara. The fucking wage thief.

For me our worst ever signing, even worse than Yates.

I remember he gave my Dad a lift in a Taxi when they both got pissed in the Crest hotel near junction 10 around that time. Didnt seem to be bothered about it at all and was full of laughs. Probably one of our worst ever signings and definitely a wage thief.

Concur. Was only in my mid teens at the time, but the Villa semi is the one I still can’t watch beyond Ricky’s goal.

It was but the Villa semi-final game is still the worst I've felt after a game.

We deserved everything but got nothing.

The Everton game is the worst I have ever felt after losing a match. I'm sure we played Norwich at home a few days later with a flat atmosphere but went on to win.

We did, 3-1, I wasn't there as I got some kind of allergy the day after Villa Park, I kid you not! Never had anything like it before or since.

I was there a few days after that when we thrashed United 2-1 though .
