To be honest I think we are already in a world war, it just hasn't been officially announced.
I see the main sides as follows:
China Russia Iran North Korea Venezuela (now under control)
Versus
USA Israel Ukraine
And then a Mish mash of stances from
UK EU Various countries in middle east Various countries in Africa
These conflicts are fluid and due to elections and battlefield outcomes and other variables different allegiances will emerge over time.
I'm broadly on the side of the US group even though I accept there are a lot of flaws that come with that, but for me that is the least worst of the 2 sides I have outlined here.outlaws is not the barometer of sanity. Your summary of the current allegiances looks about right and if there is a WW tomorrow this is how it would line up. I think we are a long way from that happening as China won't want to disturb the status quo while it extends it's economic dominance.

If the aim was regime change, that hasn’t happened. If it was to weaken Iran, they arguably look stronger and more aggressive now.
