Devante Cole

What does he offer ? Another embarrassment of a transfer fee.

To be fair, no striker will thrive in this set up. On to a loser. Far too isolated.

I agree but I still don't think I've seen him win a header. Four times out of five it ends up being an easy win for the opposition when the ball is played up to him.

Exactly this.
Wells, Yates, Nordås, Woodrow, Cole, Gbode etc can't all be crap as proved by prospering away from us.
It is the system that's turning strikers to crap irrespective of how good they may have been before joining us.Live justly, love mercy, perpetuate generosity, walk humbly.

Even Morris struggled last season, he kept coming to deep and was ineffective.

Definitely.
It’s not them, it’s us. System has been shite.

It is a weird one. Recruitment hasn’t been great, as discussed to death on here, but it can’t all be on that. You’d expect some alignment on what the manager actually wants from a striker. And even if he hasn’t got his ideal profile, good managers adapt to what they do have.
Yet ours just haven’t looked coached to or used to their strengths at all.
Hard to tell what Cole actually is or offers at this moment. I feel a bit for him.

Actually think Cole works hard, presses and chases. But he’s not getting any service and, in fairness, isn’t likely to improve. Doesn’t strike me as a Carlton Morris type that has another level to reach.

Feel sorry for him tbf. Once yesterday and twice against Exeter he pressed well and won the ball in front of the SKF Clock Area but had a could given against him every time, although from where I was sat only one was perhaps a soft foul
