          And me.
I did think he was responsible but time has proven the responsibility lay with Sweet.
The revolving doors of management and players down to one man.

Looking for a single scapegoat doesnt work. Edwards came up with a woeful plan and Sweet woefully backed him. Both IMHO are to why we are where we are today...

I guess it’s quite a big derby a things considered but it’s also part of his disingenuous act to make people love him. His sycophantic comments at every club he goes to has become so sickly.

        Agreed OTT.

It’ll all come tumbling down again when the mates and chums culture leads to O accountability and backbone.

That’s quite a weird way of looking at the bloke who took us to the premier league.

You’re missing the point. I’m not disputing that. The original post was about him being over the top and I agreed.

He’s a nice bloke and got us promoted, credit to that.

My post was in reference to this constant nice guy persona. The fuss he made of Middlesbrough and then dropped for the same act again at Wolves.

The lack of backbone and mates/chums culture is what has got us into this mess. It’s been all over the club and he has been a part of that too. We were such a weak team under him in the championship. A little more bite, accountability and challenge and we wouldn’t be in this pickle.

A team who were mid table.

Absolutely astonishing, but not surprising given the state of your posts, that you won’t give him credit

He brought two players in if my memory is correct..Nakamba and full back..the group were firing on all cylinders prior to his arrival..he did nothing..just took the praise...then realised he could not cope in prem..changed style of play..brought people in ..moved them on..Will not see wolves back in prem under him..bullshitting media darling

It’s a bit of a pointless squabble as there are always loads of things to take into account, for example NJ didn’t have Pelly and Alfie available for most of his time that season.

The signing of Nakamba was clearly pivotal, but you’d have to assume NJ would have signed a holding midfielder too as Lansbury couldn’t stay fit.

Drameh was also a great signing at the time, but only required as NJ nicked Bree.

What is clear is that recruitment went down the toilet in subsequent windows and that trend has not reversed unfortunately.

I’ve got no ill will to Edwards I’m pretty sure he didn’t say, “Get me Hashioka, Harris and Holmes and we’ll stay up”

Yeah I’m with you. It’s just the revisionists calling Edward’s a charlatan are emblematic of the state of modern football fans.

The same characters who said NJ didn’t do that good a job when he returned, and that anyone could’ve kept us up that first season back

Edwards has shown that in the short term he get can results. By his own admission he didn't tweak much when he came here, and I imagine his more laid back attitude was a refreshing change FROM Jones' intensity.

Longer term he seems to struggle but given backing he has improved wolves so perhaps he has learnt from us.

It can't be argued that he was appaling for us last season

Now you’re just making leaps and dramas.

People can have opinions - NJ was a brilliant, gritty leader and I’m a massive fan. Edwards is a nice bloke and hopefully he’s learning but what he turned us into (not helped by others) was bloody awful and has set us back years.

1 poont off playoffs and 2 points off 4th when he was appointed.

But he did do remarkably well that season. And his signings in January were instrumental.

We started the season slowly and At the time some people were wanting Jones to go, saying that the new signings were shit and we had no chance at the play offs again.

FWIW I think we’d have made the play offs with NJ in charge as well. But I just don’t understand the negativity and stubbornness of some of our fans.

                          I agree tbh.

I remember people on here saying NJ should be sacked after we drew at home to Coventry.

                          Rob did brilliantly that season.

I do not remember hearing negativity toward Nathan..he kept us in the Championship..only handful of fans attending..after disastrous Graeme Jones fxcked us up..
