That it really is known now, how much the majority of fans are pissed off with the football, never mind the results. It is honestly so boring, even at home apart from a few games.
Let’s be honest here. Most football now is pretty dull , vast majority of teams all playing the same way , all obsessed with stats and possession. We might have been one of the last sides to play a bit differently for those 3 months in the Prem when we were competitive I’m sure the circle will turn at some point
The change to the goal kick rules killed the game. Not having to pass outside the box encouraged possession based football and fannying around.
It also killed some of the great things about long goal kicks, not just that they created flashpoints as players challenged for them, but things like players all migrating to one side of the pitch, 'youre shit aaaah' and 'mr spoons'.The truth is simple. If it was complicated, everyone would understand it.
The change was introduced to speed up the game - the same as not insisting that a goal kick has to be taken on the side of the goal where the ball went out. That's worked well, hasn't it. The same as the ref counting down the last five of the eight seconds - except that they don't even start counting until eight seconds a lot of the time and, when they do, there are some very long seconds followed by the keeper dropping the ball when the time is almost up and then taking even more time before actually kicking it. There was already a six second law that was never implemented so why increase it to eight but, in reality, to about fifteen.
Too much tinkering with the laws of the game for no good reason.
Problem with that is over a period of time the results with shite performances will run out,as opposed to good performances which reap results over time.
