Wilshere response to incident near tunnel
Posted by Millennial on 22/2/2026, 21:52:41
Meanwhile, when the players got to the tunnel, it was Wilshere who had to be ushered off the pitch as he got involved in a heated exchange with supporters who appeared to be letting him know in no uncertain terms what they thought of the result. Sharing what happened from his point of view, the manager added: “I was just trying to hear what he was saying, I've done it before. I think he was questioning the tactics, which is fine. Fans come, they pay their money and they watch and they have an understanding of football, so I was just trying to find out what he didn't like about the tactics, find out that.
Guess the normal response is to tell someone to shut their fucking mouth?
From the TV pictures I saw the "fans" giving the abuse were nastily agressive. How would you expect JW and the players to react to that sort of vitriol?
If he was getting abuse and gave it back, so what? We were poor once again and some of our supporters are unable to restrain themselves. If you give it out then you've go to take it.
Last manager who responded in this manner got the sack..I imagine he was provoked also in a similar fashion..the grown up thing to do was wave to crowd..get off pitch pronto..If results do not improve..home or away..I imagine things will get tougher for this manager
Had we conceded the equaliser earlier and responded the way we did in injury time, but not got a winner, reaction woudl have been different for the same result.
Obviously had we not tried to coast all 2nd half an equaliser wouldn't have been on the cards to start with.
Play offs are pretty much gone (which saves the end of season inevitable disappointment) . So be nice to see the team crunch into 50-50s, get a bit lairy and erm shoot. Give the crowd something to get behind rather than something to boo. Make it fun again as the pressure is off. Do that and a lot woudl be happier..even if the same mid table result
He did indeed and was certainly not what any of us wanted to hear then or now. BUT.. if he said the ground has to be built in Luton but it will take another 45 years to even lay a brick I wonder what the reaction would’ve been then when we were on the verge of becoming a top ten team?
