You can blame the recruitment team for the signings

But you can't blame them for the tactics. Shite tippy tappy, backwards sideways dross which ends up with us trying to defend a 1 goal lead against a side 19th in the third division. Change can't come soon enough.
Re: You can blame the recruitment team for the signings
The football, the tactics, recruitment, etc are all symptoms, not the cause, of the malaise. The football often reflects the state of a football club and that is what is happening at Luton Town FC right now
Wilshere will probably get sacked (he might even walk) and then end up managing higher up the pyramid with better players who can implement his ideas and style. But then what happens after he goes? A new manager, new ideas, new style needing to get the players to change the way they play (yet again) and so the cycle goes on. No continuity. No plan. An absolute mess
Our last 3 managers plus some ex-players are plying their trade at a higher level so it's obviously LTFC that's the problem
Re: You can blame the recruitment team for the signings
It is not as easy to put it down to the recruitment team, particularly as some of our "failures" have gone to teams higher up in the chain and are performing well. Also, the recruitment team will be working under restrictions placed on them by the board. They will come up with a number of players for the positions needing reinforcements. It is not the recruitment teams issue if we try to play hard ball, offer ridiculously low transfer fees and/or wages so that we can't land any of the players on the initial list. This is almost certainly why we see a flurry of activity at the 11th hour on transfer deadline day, particularly where we have parted company with players before securing replacements.
Obviously, there have been many poor signings but how many of these would have been 1st, 2nd or even 3rd on the list of potential targets?
The problem sits elsewhere
Re: You can blame the recruitment team for the signings
I wouldn't mind if we were on the front foot, creating lots of chances, urgency, pace, intensity but there's none of that, 5 shots in 90 mins against Burton is shocking, 4 of them you could hardly call chances. We all know it won't change.
