Wilshere post match interview
Posted by Gothenburg Hatter on 21/2/2026, 19:47:10
Seemed a bit irritated and for once seemed to make sense. So basically the players are under performing due to the fact they can’t cope with the pressure coming from our fan base. The interviewer pointed out that the supporter frustration was a build up of the failures of the club over the past two seasons. Wilsheres view reading between the lines is that it’s unfair they are held responsible for what’s gone on before and that no progress will be made on the pitch until the club are together as one. I have sympathy for Wilshere and those players who do care about the club. They are on the receiving end of the supporters frustration when the main problem has been how the club has been managed from above in particular how they have managed to create a worsening relationship with the fans. The worst part for me being that they refuse to accept any blame for the poor decisions made since the PL relegation. So to sum up we are in a bloody mess and we ALL need to pull together to get us out of it.
Surely when he took the Job he would've understood fans expectation levels? To say there's pressure and expectations on the players is fine, but to draw against Burton fucking Albion and lose against a Wigan team that hadn't won at hone since December is a fucking joke, given the so called quality in this squad.League one again ole ole
There should be expectations and pressures on the players when they play for pre-season favourites shouldn't there? Its his job to manage the players to be able to perform whilst under that pressure
He was talking nonsense. All the fans fault again. If any professional sports person is unable to summon up the strength to show his best each time he steps onto a pitch then they no right being there.
Even Sunday league teams have players showing heart and grit despite their lack of skill
Ok, even if you accept that as a reason when playing at home, but it can’t be the reason for consistently diabolical performances away from home with just several hundred Luton fans attending?
I didn't really hear any booing, only the odd groan at a misplaced pass. I thought the team got a fairly easy ride given what they were serving up. It was only when the inevitable equaliser went in things got toxic

Sorry..not buying Wilshire clap trap..he wants folk to sit quiet enjoying two shots on target in 90 mins at home..fans respond to on pitch commitment.. you give it..we appreciate it
