    Time for Jack

To show if he is a manager or not?

So far I think the jury is out on him, we have been overall average under his leadership and particularly poor away from home, I get that he has had to play with the squad he inherited and that has taken a while to start sorting out, but we have seen on a couple of occasions seen this team can perform to a decent level so the question arises is it motivation and tactics.... When I see comments like he "hopes" the away form is not a mental thing I think it's very worrying.... Its his job to resolve that and motive HIS team.

I am not convinced he is a motivator and seems so far almost like he is playing a tactics computer game, oh and I know motivation can be enthused in many different ways, it's not all about screaming and shouting... I very much hope he changes my opinion, and I very much hope it starts tonight

Sadly he’s not! Like a schoolboy on the touch line and keeps talking about taking the right moment 😪😪

Any manager role in any industry is 90% man management and there are different ways to do it.
Old school was shouting and threatening but each person under you is an individual who perhaps needs a different approach than others. I just haven't seen that in Jack yet I wish he would show more animation.

We haven’t seen much of his manner behind the scenes but I agree he is very passive on the touch line. I hope his confidence develops and he learns to kick some arse when needed.

I'm not convinced so far but I am probably biased because I didn't want him in the first place. In any case he should be given the rest of the year at least otherwise we start to become a Watfraud style laughing stock.

Pretty much the above, the 15 league games left and the very kind run in we have will show what the club, not just JW is about.

We'll probably finish on 75 points and miss out on the play offs.

In the last 10 years (not including shortened COVID season), the average number of points needed to finish one point ahead of the team in seventh is 74. The average number of points of the team finishing sixth is 75. So chances are that 75 would be just enough.

His job is to get the best out of what he has which is a jumble sale of random players. No one is motivating these to great heights. L1 is not great which is why we're even in top 10. Stop setting the bar too high. After this summer you can start to judge him

I’m not sure you’re right about the standard of league 1. I think the problem is the opposite. There used to be a chasm between 1 & 2 versus 3 & 4. I think there is not a lot between bottom half of the Championship and top half of League 1 and then bottom League 1 and top of League 2. Our problem in the last two seasons has been square pegs in round holes. The fault for that lies with the recruitment team and the previous two managers. JW wants to play his way and it appears he’s been active in the reshuffle so now he needs to get them playing to it. It may need the close season to complete the clear out. Fingers crossed we can get into the play-offs.

It's odd, the home form / performances I think it's fair to say he seems to have nailed but away it's as bad as it ever was.

He's proven himself in a lot of respects, he has certainly worked out quickly who he didn't want and why and together with the club have taken strong action.

I think overall it's encouraging enough but yes that awful away form - and obviously level of performance - has to change for the better.

While it would be nice to reach the play-offs (yet still underwhelming on what 'should' have been), there needs to be a massive increase in consistent performances both on and off the pitch in order to reach the final.

Getting into the play-offs may help with morale & team spirit etc, but then falling at the first hurdle would be another kick in the teeth
