The way I read that is that Alli doesn't want to play League One football, which is understandable given how well he did last season. Assuming we don't go up, he'll move on for a fee in the summer. As has been suggested by Jack, letting him go to Portsmouth is a way of getting his fee up. Hopefully, we'll re-invest wisely.

He seems similar to Shayden Morris; both have the same trick of dropping the shoulder, using speed to get to the byline and then pulling it back. That's it really. Teams have worked out that doubling-up on them is an effective defensive tool. Neither Alli nor Morris have got good close control so I don't expect them to be here next season if Jack is. Good luck to both of them, I can see why they suited Bloomfield's style.

They don’t seem to have worked it out when he plays for Portsmouth. Surely having a player being doubled up on is a good thing as creates opportunities for others….Wells would get more space and well….do Wells…

On the other hand, Lawrence represents the sort of technical winger that would fit Wilshere's possession game. Unfortunately, it hasn't paid off.

Lawrence maybe in hindsight may prove to be a worthwhile experiment, in that it may help Jack understand the difference between a player that looks good at academy level and one ready for League 1 football
