Re: No names on the back of Birmingham shirts today
'Birmingham City wore a special "penguin" kit to mark their 150th anniversary which had no numbers on the shorts. The shirt had no name on the back, just the squad number, and also had no number or name on the shorts, just like the kit worn in 1876 when the club were formed.'
Re: No names on the back of Birmingham shirts today
Birmingham City were formed in 1875 as Small Heath Alliance. They were formed by cricketers wanting to keep fit during the winter - one of the three main ways clubs were formed.
Luton Wanderers - formed by cricketers Luton Excelsior and Luton Albany - formed by work/school mates Chist Church Institute - a church team formed as part of the drive to keep the youth busy (and also as part of the church's wider role in life through concerts, days out, bazaars, sports, pastimes, reading and so on. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
Re: No names on the back of Birmingham shirts today
Far cry from us who are often one of the last clubs to announce the kits, and then when we do announce them we have no idea when and if they will be in stock. Hopefully sorted for next season as Kensell seemed competent and he would've put most of the kit stuff together
Re: No names on the back of Birmingham shirts today
When are our white shirts for this season being announced?
RIP the White shirt, 1885 -2025. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
