The saddest thing about today
Posted by glide on 14/2/2026, 17:21:21
was not the defeat but how far we've drifted from where we the fans thought we would be in div. 3. Luton were not even close today. Cardiff have managed everything about their relegation seemingly positively and will reap the rewards.
That is the whole point ! The fact we were expecting it is the crux of the matter. We should not expect defeat in the third division, havig recently been a premier side !
We can certainly learn from them in that respect. They’ve built a team around their talented young players something we have the potential to do next season. It means a few more getting moved on. The only chance we have of saving this season is to have a far more positive approach away from home even if it means taking more risks. Rather the odd thrashing if it means we get points on the board. Today’s surrender is hard to accept as have many other similar games this season.
None of us mind losing on any given day. Makes the wins sweeter. It's the manner of defeat (as well as the sheer number) and the attitude in defeat, that is angering people
And virtually every defeat for 18 months, and possibly more, has been lame, feeble, pathetic, weak - pick your adjective
The club is plummeting and no-one seems able to arrest that fall
Defeats happen, no one with a Brain expects to win every week. Its how we are losing that is the alarming thing. Out fought, no desire, looked leggy despite not playing midweek, standing off and giving far too much time and space, continually trying to score the perfect tippy tippy goal and walk it in. All basic things that we keep getting wrong.League one again ole ole
The sadest thing was the inevitability. Till we win our next home game. Till we lose our next away game. Until May.The truth is simple. If it was complicated, everyone would understand it.
