You live in hope, there will be no big spending anytime soon. Just bottom scraping and the bare minimum of investment until we can magically fill a 25,000 seat stadium and pay for it all.

I thought we'd binned off all the deadwood in January. JW will need time to turn this around. Cardiff showing us how to do it without parachute payments.

We’re effectively doing it without parachute payments given what we’ve invested. Most of the parachute payments we have used on the playing staff have gone on wages for players signed when in the PL I’d imagine

Yes, that’s my point. People think parachute payments should mean massive spending on transfer fees, but actually they are about funding the squad you bought after promotion. Our issue is that the players still on big wages are not good enough / been ruined by injury / injured now / off form / don’t want to be here / out on loan. So the parachute payments are not actually funding much on the pitch quality that will make a difference for us right now.

Most of the players out on loan were signed post PL though. We got rid of the vast majority of high earners. We never went ridiculously high with the wage bill. There should be plenty left over from the parachute payments if they are used for what they're intended. So where is it?
