          I think you may need to revisit some geography lessons.

          Off the top of my head, Yorkshire has; Leeds, York, Ripon, Bradford, Hull, and Sheffield all as cities.

          Cambridgeshire has Cambridge, Ely, and Peterborough.

          Essex has Chelmsford.

          That might not be an exhaustive list but the point is Yorkshire (in all it's forms) has way more cities than the two counties you suggest.

            Actually Yorkshire is split into regions itself

            Essex has Colchester Chelmsford and apparently Southend is classed as one too Derek

              Southend was granted city status in 2022 as a memorial to murdered MP Sir David Amess.

              Yorkshire has 8 cities, the 6 Derek mentioned plus Doncaster and Wakefield.
