Worth repeating again that we’ve signed 45 players permanently or on loan since promotion to the PL. incredibly I think we’ve made a profit on transfer fees in that time (though you can definitely argue that’s not a good thing given we’re mid table in league 1) but the amount of money wasted on fees, wages etc is absolutely frightening. How much more churn before we start looking like a decent team again?
The rumoured Cole / Beesley signings remind me of the ‘plan’ during the conference days, just sign some random half decent players at the level and hope it works out.

And then Still came in and sorted it out although, even in 2015, recruitment reverted a bit back to 2010-13

That’s got me thinking actually. It’s well known that before John Still was appointed a couple of ‘consultants’ were approached (David Pleat, Billy Jennings plus others) - I’m wondering who’s wisdom was trusted prior to Wilshere’s appointment.
Not a dig at Wilshere I’ll add….
