Stand out result from this day was in 1921 when we beat Gillingham 7-0 at home.
Born today in 1997 is a player (Cameron Carter-Vickers) who I felt was instrumental in keeping us in the Championship in the 19/20 season. CCV played only 16 games for us on loan from Spurs, between February and July 2020, but bought a steadiness and organisation to the back line (particularly in the June- July period) which had hitherto been somewhat sporadic up to then.

I remember that Sunderland game in 1983. The coach broke down on the way home and we saw the new year in just as we were pulling onto the slip road at J11. We were so bad that day, we were lucky to get nil. Even so, it was a better performance than at Wimbledon five years later (a top division game in front of fewer than 5000).

I remember that. Les Sealey even came over to apologise at the end of the game

I went by rail that day, very depressing. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885

Yes I remember standing on a freezing cold terrace at the Wimbledon game in 1988. At the time I think that was the lowest gate for a League One game, although subsequently surpassed in Sept 1991.

Vinnie Jones volley started the rout I think. Only the second time I have left a game early - to get chips. The other occasion was the 5 0 home defeat by Man U. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885

Just looked at the programme for the 1988 game and see that only 4474 attended against Coventry on 24th Sept, so our attendance wasn't the lowest League One gate at that time, as I thought.

Andy D'Urso at Ipswich continued his Steve Howard vendetta by disallowing his headed equaliser for no known reason. No appeal by them. Wasn't there a later game when Newell put Howard on the bench when D'Urso was ref? Mr J.C. It was that Ipswich game - Howard came on as a sub.

He sent him off at Brentford and Stoke.

I went to that match with Ipswich supporting in-laws, I told them D'Urso hated Howard, when the goal was disallowed for no reason I was all "I did tell you"... Great day on the piss though.

The poster RickyH drove to Ipswich and it was then that I realised his car maintenance routine was zero. The roads were mucky but the screen wash was empty so we bought some at a service station. When we filled the container in the car it just poured on the floor - he had a leak in the pipe. We wiped down the windscreen as best we could and got to the game ok.
After the game we wiped some of the screenwash onto the windscreen before we left Ipswich. However, going along at 80 odd mph in the outside lane of a dual carriageway, the windscreen whited out. I had to stick me head out of the passenger window to guide us into the inside lane then into a layby. We ran out of cloth to clean the screen so one of us lost some socks I think. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
