    Scotland

I very much enjoyed the Scotland match last night, and switched to Wales from time to time. I am certain that most Hatters fans would have supported Scotland. My question is that if it had been England v Denmark what percentage of Scots would have been in the England camp. Sir Andy Murray would have done these days, a changed man, and now British with Scots heritage. Gordon Brown also.

      Come on England

Having lived up here for 30 years...virtually nil wouldve liked England to win at anything !
...they've huge chips on their shoulders about us talking about 66 but they never stop with 67

I support them at nothing, only time I would would be if a close relative represented the country.

I never support Scotland. My old man told me that when England won the world cup, Denis Law was playing golf and he threw his clubs in a lake in disgust. Says it all.

The first bit is true. The lake bit is nonsense. Although if there had been mobile phones back then, who knows.
His annoyance was because he played in the 9-3 game in 1961.

He was also annoyed with his own teammates the year after the World Cup. Scotland beat England 3-2 at Wembley, but could have been a lot more if they hadn't been busy taking the piss.

I think you would be surprised. Quite a lot are happy to cheer on England. Despite the best efforts of the Daily Record and the Scottish Sun.

The one thing that makes it harder is the commentary and pundits, who consistently talk about who they could meet in later rounds, before a ball has been kicked.

I was in Scotland 2002 when we played Denmark, I was amazed how many Scots were supporting Denmark, there were loads of little Danish flags all over the place.

I always support all the British teams and Eire .w

We should all try to get over the historic rivalries.
The English caused a lot of misery centuries ago but it has fuck all to do with those living now.

Genuinely don't know why you would feel that way. Of course there is a rivalry. It is two countries teams. Do you support QPR or Watford when they play elsewhere? No, of course you don't. But if Russia attacks tomorrow, "we" are a team.
Am slightly pished ,so I may not have written that well. But hopefully you see my point

They massively enjoy England getting beat any sport.

And then theres the annual lantern walk to the top of the hill near the border(where I lived) with a big party when they get there to celebrate the death of the English army hundreds of years ago. I gave that night a swerve, stayed home and watched Coronation Street.

I think we all know Scotland won’t have a chance in the finals whereas England will be among the favourites.
