    Feckin awful for fans

Posted by Alien Nate on 18/11/2025, 22:26:43

The first batch of tickets went on sale at the start of October, with more than 4.5m fans entering a draw for a chance to buy them.

Fifa has not formally revealed a full price list, but they are being listed online by fans who were successful in the draw after spending hours in digital queues.

General admission tickets are being split into four categories, with those for the first match in the USA costing between $560 (£417) and $2,235 (£1,662).

The cheapest ticket for the 2026 final costs $2,030 (£1,510), and the most expensive is $6,000 (£4,462). Hospitality tickets, meanwhile, are yet to go on sale but will almost certainly be priced significantly higher.

Some tickets for matches early in the tournament - in a few of the less prestigious locations - are available for $60 (£44), but stadium map images show they are a tiny proportion of available seats.

The second phase of ticketing will begin on Monday, 27 October, with the Early Ticket Draw that will run until 31 October. This will involve an application process followed by a randomised selection.

A random selection draw will take place shortly after the groups are drawn on 5 December, during which fans can apply for specific matches.

A last-minute sales phase will take place closer to the tournament, during which fans will be able to purchase any remaining inventory on a first come, first served basis.

Fifa is adopting a 'dynamic' pricing model for the tournament, meaning ticket prices for matches deemed high demand could be raised significantly during later sales periods.

Fifa is also offering a 'Right To Buy' system to guarantee getting tickets, although fans can expect to pay significantly more for this option.

FIFA has been rotten for decades. But Infantino has taken the money-grab to another level. Giving WCs to Qatar and Saudi was awful for many reasons however the schemes they've brought in for next year are ones that target the pockets of the fans directly.
Fans will still go and will still have a good time and FIFA know this. All of the bullsh*t will be airbrushed out.

One part of it is probably the ridiculously high price for any live sport/entertainment here in the U.S. I know games will be in Mexico and Canada too. Disgusting greed and profiteering if you ask me.

Can you imagine walking into a bar with "dynamic pricing" - which would mean your pint starts at £5 and could go up to £9? Some breweries are experimenting with it (stonegate who are godawful for publicans and customers at least). I`d choose a different pub!

You would walk out. Dynamic pricing is basically ticket touting. No matter how it is dressed up

Funny thing is lost interest now they are good and hate the hype “Haaland this and that” and all the johnny come latelys new fans

No intention of going to WC with them prices! Hotels and flights will be x3 > x5 normal

a "bonus" is that most of the matches are in trumpland. Complete with allowed social media access to see if you should be allowed in. And trump trying to weaponise city hosting by politics. Imagine if he moves a matc hin say NYC to the West coast as its "unsafe" - after you have bought tickets?

When people stop paying these ridiculous prices, doesn't seem to matter what the cost is, people just keep on buying it, football, gigs, sky TV etc.

As you said, your average Saturday fan isn't going to be there and a vast majority of people that are there won't be turning up on a cold and wet December evening to support their local team.
