    A missing person post

Well I exaggerate... But I would like to put out an appeal to help find the heart and soul of this football club...yep I know we won but the fight and intent is just not there on a individual or team basis ....been going since 1974 and the current squad I think but maybe wrong seem to be on a par with the bunch of misfits Blackwell assembled on the fighting for this club scale. I am not comparing football ability just heart and desire, we seem bereft of both. I am constantly hearing that this squad is a bunch of great lads who care... Well perfornances seem to contradict that .!.... Rant over

We're much improved from a few weeks back but we do lose focus at crucial times. Little steps. Support the management.

I appreciate the frustration but think I disagree. I wasn't sure about Wilshire and it's still too early to tell but the mood is changing. I sense that the staff are quickly working out what the problems are and will make the necessary changes.

Some positives, Another goal for Lamine and Wells got two. AAH is on the pitch. Odoffin has now made 3 appearances. Kodua scored a cracking goal.

Think we missed Clark tonight but the team found a way.

Were you at the game ? Every 2nd ball in the 2nd half we lost, every 50/50 tackle we lost. This isn't a tactical thing it's about players characters and currently that is lacking. Compare tonight or any game this season to a few years back when players were throwing themselves in to tackles and blocks to prevent goals and chances and tell me you can see even the smallest semblance of that in this team

We didn't concede at Northampton. Which is good

But any time there is a setback like a missed pen or a conceded goal, we collapse like a house of cards. The mentality is utterly pathetic and weak

That 2nd half tonight was ridiculous

I’m just assuming the half time oranges were spiked with PCP.

Mengi must have had 3 or 4.

                          But. We won.

A few weeks ago probably not.

Assume your are talking about the Odifin clearance... Yes he did extremely well... Did you see that desire tonight?

Not just that there was shape and people know where each other were. We played triangles. We looked like a team rather than a bunch of individuals who had been given conflicting instructions.

Tonight I didn't see much of that.

So I take it I was right you weren't at Northampton?

Correct I couldn't get a ticket ...but my question to you would you have still felt as positive if Odifin doesn't make that clearance?.... I was positive after Peterborough because fleeting we showed some spirit and played a couple of moments of football, but as soon as this team takes a blow it seems to fold .... As I said elsewhere in this thread it's not tactical or ability based it's mentality based ....over the years some of the players most admired by the Kenilworth Road faithful haven't been the most technically gifted but have always openly demonstrated a willingness to give 100 percent

Yes the fact it looked like the players knew what they were expected to do was a vast improvement on the end of Broomfield's rein.

Apart from the last five minutes, the first half was very decent.

Obviously, we have a condfidence problem. That will only be repaired by getting positive results and not being relegated every season. Winning that game despite that second half will help with that. As will getting everyone fit and playing our best eleven more often than not.

I think tonight we took it a bit for granted. The first half there was shape but it dropped off. Even at corners we seem to be doing something different which i could only say has come from JW and his days at Arsenal.

Yes, since the new management it’s the first thing I’ve seen change. Players putting a shift in. Talk about glass half empty. We won….enjoy it

I welcome every win (as we are all aware they have been very sparse) but I am an old git that wants to see a performance that comprises of skill heart and passion... Recently there hasn't been much of any of that

Too much complacency from all 2nd half. They thought they'd won it already. And then struggled to go up a gear when it became obvious it was needed. That's a mental thing.
