        Going on yesterday, yes.

        We did not look like scoring until he put a pint point cross in to a player that could score. Quite skilful to avoid Wells too!

        FFS we all knew how good Jones was and with JW and Powell running things our ability to attract and retain changes massively.

                          It is very simple, if someone offers a very good price then he has to be sold.
                          No matter how wealthy you think we are that is how it it has always been and will be in the future.

                          Basically only the the top 6 wealthiest teams can hold on to players no matter the offer.

                            There are also the well documented reasons why Jones moved here in January.

                            Our past history does not have be a guide to how the board treat such a scenario in 2026.

                                One the goes back to the morning of 26th September 2001, when some chap posting as Hattytown tried to convince anyone who would listen that we would not hold on to a French chap we had signed who had just followed up his Torquay performance with something of similar influence at Brisbane Road.

                                Pretty much identical arguments given then as now.

                                We kept hold of JLV and took the piss for the rest of the season.

                                        The parallel is that then and per now we had fans who would point to some supposed past examples of selling when in a position of strength.

                                        For some there appears to be a sense of inferiority that means they cant believe we can possibly hold onto a specific player.

                                        Lost count of the comments on X since yesterday paraphrasing that “Jones will be off in January”

                                        Suspect the same fans who were moaning about the lack of delivery from Ali, Gideon and Morris.

                                        Play and perform like yesterday, get AAH and another working together with Jones providing the ammunition we will piss this league.

                                        Put the negativity away and worry about next season after we are promoted.

                      I suggested one player, a player I suggested immediately after the win at Burton so it’s hardly names.

                      An odd thing about this forum is that I get so much grief (as you do) about being critical when that is merited based on the last 20 months.

                      But we have a great day, as yesterday was, the mood should be upbeat and looking forward to the games this week.

                      And within minutes of the final whistle on here, on X and again on here again this morning people are already looking for negatives when there are now actual positives.

                      There must be some underlying reason why people can’t enjoy the moment, particularly when we have had so few recently.

                              There were some warm pork scratchings on offer in the battle cruiser though so I may have sampled 1 or 2 of those.
