Just me, but managers that have essentially done well at League Two level at clubs with (no disrespect) less expectations than us, don’t feel like the right option…

Looks a good match - local and available with a bit of a track record in the lower leagues. I also think being over 50 will help in terms of respect but also distance from the players - personally I never like it when the coach and the players are hard to tell apart. I think it also feels like a good move from him as he said he left Northants for bigger team- we are better resourced than Northampton and have a higher ceiling. A good manager could get us back to top half of Championship in 2 or 3 years whereas they won't get there and if they did would not hang around at that level for long

Probably not a big enough name to command respect and patience from our fanbase at present.

He does talk well and was called "the best pound-for-pound manager in the EFL" by some journalist recently.

A player with the right attitude shouldn't need a manager with a big name to command respect.

If we have players that have poor attitudes, which has been alluded to numerous times, then
a/. they need to be shipped out or sidelined and
b/. it shows how poor the recruitment has been given that NJ in particular was insistent on signing only players with a good attitude.

Just goes to show it was N Jones that really got us to the Prem. Others just settled in behind his slipstream

I sort of agree - all our "players" are on a fair wage - some very good indeed for L1. They should be motivated as a minimum and also professional enough to listen to and take advice for the team manager.
