Obviously the arm was a great day

I preferred the caged sections on the kenny.

    Always rammed

79-85. Started in the Oak Road and moved on to the Maple triangle with all the other housing estate yobbos 😁. Up early, couple of beers in town pre match. Greasy spoon cafe for lunch. Excitement and adrenaline kicking in while walking to the ground, particularly for the big games, of which there were many.
Packed terraces, surges, knees up Luton Town and jumping around like idiots when we scored.
I guess we just miss our youth!

We certainly know or knew the same people. Grew up in Hockwell Ring as I’ve mentioned before.

You've never lived. We weren't caged. Have you done the walk from the Oak Rd to the Kenilworth Rd end at half time and stand under the scoreboard?

Except when we played Chelsea at home in the 80s when they were all over the ground including O3.

It was like our fan base had taken a day off, or become Chelsea fans for the day

Oak Road, late 60s, 4th Div title winning season. Crushed against the barriers. Smoking No 6. Graham French, Bruce Rioch, Keith Allen. Absolute pinnacle of being a Luton fan.

I remember it well. I was in the Oak Road for most games and it was an amazing time. I didn't smoke any fags though, I was only 8.

Absolutely. And here we are 60 years on. What a rich tapestry of football life we have witnessed. Wouldn't change a thing - the good times outweighing the bad. Travelling down for the Mansfield game, 600 miles in one day. Can't wait, even with the way we are playing. COYH

Yeah, you enjoyed a lot of my cigarettes if I remember rightly! I always preferred the evening games. Then up to the Britannia for a couple of pints of BB (in the days before it became kegged and fizzy), the up to Tai's for fishcake and chips. Happy days.

As well as can be expected as age takes it's toll. We lost Cecil the Gent in April, but he was 13. Now got an ex Henlow and Harlow girl, Ressapanda, who we call Tessa. Greyhound number 11!

                          Hope all's well with you.
