Over reaction

We have been poor bit the law of averages shows we shouldn't be this bad all season , we had fight for about 1/5 of the championship season so we can do it
I think the new players are not damaged with relegation so it's clearly the old guard . Get them playing with the kids and draw a line. New manager will need to be a proper man manager

May be a point IF we we were just getting bad breaks. The lennie lawerence interview "when we will we get a lucky break, im going to swear, we played fucking well".
But we arent. We have shaded some games we have lost. but lack a capacity to score. or defend. We g behind and we are done. There arent many of the double relegated old guard left. The new boys look like they won a competition to be league 1 footballers.
A few years ago Alan Neilson came in after Still went - he set us up for the most sterile 0-0 imaginable . We got a point. Appalling that with the price of the squad in the league we are in ...but that may not be the worst idea right now. Stop the fuckign rot. Because it is setting in.
Ask a fan to pick their best XI and i doubt you woudl get many simialr answers
Mine - just to stick my head above the parapet and know there will be disagreements Keeley Makosso Mengi Longjwik Brammal Saville Morris Clark Fanne Nordas Wells
*based on non crocks
Could make an easy argument for replacing all of them with others. Clark probably the main one peple would aree deserves his place

I don't necessarily disagree with the team you've suggested there, but if I break it down:
Keeley - a major error every game at the moment. Makosso - no discipline. Mengi - not interested and not really shown the same signs that got PL clubs interested before. Brammall - a journeyman. Saville - likes a yellow card, but solid. Morris - shown shades but can't go 90 minutes. Clark - a workhorse. Doesn't deserve to be associated with these clowns. Fanne - clearly got ability, but can't execute. Played in various positions. Nordas - holds the ball up, worth about 20% of what we actually paid for him. Wells - played in the wrong position.

We could be bad cos we are bad. Have you thought about that. Why are our players good, because we want them to be?

Because most of the squad out there tonight are proven at this level and above to be good players. Thats why.
But I get that it’s just easier to say they’re all shit. And tbh that’s how football fans seem to think these days.

Where have they proved it?

Longwijk got promoted with Plymouth Andersen was in L1 team of the year in 2023 Yates scored 20+ goals in this league Mengi was our best defender in the PL Wells has consistently scored at championship level Clark got promoted with us to the PL Alli scored 15 odd goals last season Jacob Brown scored goals in the PL Morris was aberdeens player of the year last season

I don’t know. The manager who just left couldn’t implement a culture to get the players playing?
From the outside it feels like the most similar situation to ours is Huddersfield. They unexpectedly got promoted to the PL, bought decent players who were proven in the championship but had a very bad time of it in the PL and never recovered. Granted they didn’t go straight down (and weirdly had one season of play offs), but I think I’m right in the fact they were in relegation trouble the three other seasons and finally went down the summer we arrived back in the championship. They had solid owners without any drama, and got bought the season they went down by a billionaire. They spent money but are still treading water in their second season in this division.
We saw it in the first season in the conference. It took time to turn the downwards spiral around. I get why people blame sweet and want him gone, but I genuinely don’t think that’s going to make much difference. And the appointment of a DOF is equally as unpredictable as hiring a manager.

That's all in the past. It's now that counts.
Out of that list I think Andersen is doing ok. Clark is doing ok but can't have everything heaped on him, he's good but not good enough to carry another 7 or 8 under Parr players. I also like Morris because he can cross the ball and get it into the box. But none of our forwards seem to be able to get on the end of anything.
The rest I think are shit.outlaws is not the barometer of sanity.

Teams with zero confidence tend to play like shit quite often Just like teams who have confidence play well:
Posted by Zobra The Greek on 8/10/2025, 7:29:19, in reply to "Re: Over reaction "
Because the manager didn’t know how to instil it? We’ve built successful cultures here under 2020 three times. Uber John Still and under NJ twice. Under NJ we had most of the same recruitment team (as far as I’m aware) apart from Mick has stepped back a bit now. And GS was also dealing with power court during these periods, with arguable more to do in that regard.
I think if we get the right manager in, that’s how we change it. A reset. Personally I feel like a DOF might just complicate things. I get why people want one or a new ceo and GS to just focus on the power court side of things, but when PC is built, he’d be wanting to be involved again, I’d imagine. And personally I think despite the slump we’re in, he’s produced so much success that it’s unfair kicking him out for one and a half bad seasons (albeit the one season being absolute shite).

You get confidence by putting the hard work in behind the scenes. Hard work pays off. You gain confidence. It's an upwards cycle. Crying and feeling sorry for yourself takes you in the opposite direction. Time for these players to choose which direction they want to go. And if it's the latter then kindly fuck off and do it somewhere else.outlaws is not the barometer of sanity.

We were 1-0 up against a Cambridge team that made 10 changes from the weekend. We were lucky it was only 3-1.

Letting pelly go was the strangest decision given we signed Walsh for another year and baptiste so injury prone. Sweet even admitted it was strange without him. We got relegated to L1 and let the glue man go. For me the start seemed to be Osho going in terms of the older guard leaving.

Don't really agree about Osho. Did ok for us and scored some useful goals but at times his defending was dire and was slow. Live justly, love mercy, perpetuate generosity, walk humbly.
