"The new Atticus Partners sports practice will be led by founder partner Leon Cook and director Matt Sutton. Public relations, public affairs, strategic comms planning, reputation risk analysis and crisis comms will be among the services offered, as well as media relations and multimedia content development and distribution.
Commenting on the reason for creating a sports arm, Cook told PRWeek UK: “Our mission is to protect and strengthen reputations in high-profile, high-pressure environments. As the worlds of sport, business, politics and public opinion converge, we offer a comprehensive PR and strategic advisory service that helps clients navigate the complexities of today’s global communications landscape.”
He added: “In an era where sport and tourism intersect with geopolitics, regulation and public scrutiny, organisations face heightened reputational risk – and unprecedented opportunity.”
Cook said: “Whether promoting a nation on the global stage, managing sponsorship reputations or building public trust in a policy-led initiative, our integrated, cross-sector approach ensures that our clients remain credible, forward-looking and respected.”
Between six and eight of the agency’s staff will work in the new practice, representing clients such as Welsh Cycling, Luton Town Football Club, and sports apparel and merchandise firm Fanatics."
Would say I'm probably of the view that while calls to 'sack the board' are obviously completely ludicrous, the communication from the club senior leadership in the past year have been pretty awful. But not particularly convinced that throwing money at a consultancy is the answer - maybe just some more willingness to front up with local media outlets or communicate directly to the fans might be helpful.
Well, they definitely need some serious help. The communications has been one mess after another for some time now.
Maybe an iceberg but David Wilkinson's support and lusting after Katie Hopkins would soon be stopped by someone at this agency with social media nouse. Hardly helps relations with all the neighbours in Luton to have a Chairman tweeting that but a CEO in hiding.
