There were loads of fit topless birds on the little beach when I went about 20 years ago. Which was nice.outlaws is not the barometer of sanity.

And if you don't mind roughing it a bit check out Bar Leo in Barceloneta. Barceloneta is one of the more deprived areas but the woman who runs the bar has done for over 40 years.
They do some great cheap food in there but it is rough and ready. They do a dish called La Bomba, which is because the Spanish bombed that area during the civil war. Do it during the daytime though and then you can go up and walk along the beach to the Olympic village area.

And if you can get in for an early lunch try El Quim in the market.
It closes early though so it's a daytime thing.
