I was working at in west London that day and I’d heard from a mate that ‘this French lad’ had scored an absolute screamer. Upon leaving work a few of us went to the pub - passing through Waterloo Station on the way home I saw a bloke sporting a Luton shirt and asked him - ‘bit of a wonder goal wasn’t there?’ (telling him I was a Luton fan). I still remember the reply ‘oh mate, you gotta see it’.
A few nights later he did it again of course (Orient) - fortunately I was there for that one…
It was one of the few goals where fans were still celebrating after Torquay had kicked off. It was very special. Mr J.C.
