Cardiff comments on the Deggy YouTube video
Posted by Snapper on 25/8/2025, 13:07:06
Lots of Cardiff comments on his video. Nearly all of them saying their keeper literally saved the day. We are the best team they’ve played and we’ll be in the mix with them end of the season. Many confused that people booed at the end. Personally I don’t think we will play a better team this season. Yes they looked great in possession but we got to the premier league not having possession. We haven’t clicked into gear yet, but heading in the right direction so stay positive
So waht do you expect then? To go down again? Same old excuse about going down to the conference, being saved blah, blah. No one is doubting the good they have done for the club, but 2 relegation in a row with limited funds put into the playing staff is wrong. People have a right to an opinion, and Happy Clappers will no doubt be happy if we are stuck in this league next season.
I'll ask you a question i asked the other day. If you were in the position to own a football club and this was happening what would you do and say? Would you leave it as is? I doubt that very much.
My expectation is that we should be the best team in this league and that we should get promoted this season so we don't squander the rest of the benefits of our promotion to the Prem in 2023.
Getting relegated last season with the squad, wage bill, resources etc we had was utterly pathetic. The only way we can get over that stupid, historic failure is to immediately get promoted to cancel it out.
I'm more patient than most so I'm not surprised that people are quickly frustrated currently.
Yeah, I’m angry how a mixture of incompetence/ ego/ arrogance has screwed us over so quickly. And I’m worried we’re fucked if we don’t get promoted before the PL parachute payments end.
How conceited and privileged do you sound. Just like our fans when we went down to the conference. We didn't start to get out of it until John Still showed us there are no god given rights to which division you play in.
We havent got that money now. You reckon youre an avid supporter you dont fuckin show it. Did you know we are building a new stadium, do try to keep up to date.
I know Sir Hard Hat told us all only £30m from the PL money would be spent on PC. Feel free to tell me why not a single penny of the PL riches has been invested in the first team squad, regards transfers, in the last 2 years? I'm sure you'll have the answer....
Those who booed can explain why on this thread. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
Booing was ridiculous but that game could be typical of this season, create chances but no-one capable of converting them. Assuming of course that Ebenezer doesn't lash out on a striker in the next week.
Find it fxxking annoying ,people booed blimey 5 games in 3 wins two loses .
This team is yet to gel i feel and booing only makes it worse yes want them to play well so we can get behind them an cheer them on but booing after pissed me of.
Im suprised as well as cardiff fans, we played well unlucky not too take our chances we would of if one off them went in.
I personally Never boo. Might not wait to clap when disappointed though. Understand that the first 6-8 games can throw up interesting results as established teams can beat potentially better new teams. However gelling does not excuse players constantly giving the ball away, players not tackling and winning the ball, being out of position or not tracking back, forwards taking one touch too many, miss shooting and missing the target. Also how are we to gell playing players totally out of their natural positions and not recruiting players for all positions. Hope things change, senior players learn to play better and we can mount a challenge, I will be there at the end and again renew regardless. COYH.
One mistake away from a 00 and their keeper makes two worldies - disappointment yes, booing no. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
Yes, disappointment was my emotion. By recent standards that was a decent performance and with the rub of the green we could have got a point or three. But I was surprised and deflated by how much better Cardiff looked than us - not just in terms of performance on the day but in terms of visible quality. I'm quite certain that we'll finish below them, which already means that my expectations for the rest of the season are below what I was hoping for a few weeks ago.
Can only speak for myself but I didn't hear much booing at all in the Kenilworth End. Some clapping, but most people had left or were heading for the exit by the time the players reached that end of the pitch.
I don't think booing has the same implications as 10/20 years ago anyway. I think for anyone over say, 30ish, booing was/is almost the last resort - reserved for the worst players or performances. I'm not sure younger fans see it that way. They boo to show any kind of displeasure or annoyance. Just a change of culture. There was booing at half time of a few games of the Championship promotion season, I recall.
I was surprised how many in the Kenny left by the 85th minute on Saturday, it was an oddly high number for a narrow 1-0 home defeat with everything to play for.
I imagine it takes a bit of time to fold up their tartan blankets, pack away their thermos flasks and make their way to their disability cars to be fair.
Trouble is that booing makes players try too hard next game and anyone who has played sports knows that when you try too hard you are not relaxed and your game suffers.
Booing makes players try too hard?..you for real..I have attended numerous games Lennie Lawrence..Richard Money..when players were booed..I can assure you they never tried any harder...
