Is it just me who thinks the hype is a little OTT?
He’s clearly a very talented keeper. His distribution is very good, he is alert and an excellent shot stopper. I suspect he’ll save at least 1 penalty this season.
However he is still a WIP.
He still has weaknesses. On Tuesday, if he didn’t save with his legs from Mullin(?) he was caught in no man’s land. He juggled another one and got away with it on the same day. Yesterday he was caught out and rightly booked. He doesn’t seem too confident on set pieces. But this will all come with experience.
I know it’s the modern way for GKs to be on the ball constantly and take a risk.
I like him a lot. But he’s nowhere near the finished article yet. He clearly has a high ceiling, like quite a few of our summer signings actually.

Agree, I think he will be good but he's made a few rash errors in the last couple of games but has got away with them.
He's a young goalkeeper learning his trade and he will make errors of judgement. Just hope we don't build him up so much just to knock him down when he makes these mistakes.

I've not seen it again but he appeared to go for and win a header fairly. Their player decided to collapse in a heap in an attempt to get him sent off.
It seems that the amount of play acting at this level is far worse as the standard of officials is poor and there is no VAR to look again at decisions.
If Makosso is punished retrospectively, why doesn't the same apply to blatant "simulation" in the same game.

Interested you think he made the header.
From my view in the Oak Road it looked like me missed the header, the ball going over his head.
If he made the header then not rightly booked.

I agree. However the way people are talking is that he’s the best keeper we’ve had for a long time.

Agree, although he probably is our best keeper for a long time, as even under NJ, recruiting a top keeper seemed to be our Kryptonite.
Now, recruiting all over the pitch seems to be our kryptonite.
