As highlighted earlier “ those in the know”, had him already binned and fell into one of the poor recruitment categories.
Well I’ve hardly seen him play, and last night I did, and for the 15 mins he was on, he hardly put a foot wrong.
Any more that fall into that category “ that those in the know” have singled out.
Very quiet on here from them atm….. supposed they have fingers poised over keyboard waiting for next defeat?

I mean, it's the only good 30 minutes in 8 months from him. He has looked totally lost prior to last night. If anyone had said that he has looked worth the supposed £2.5 million price tag, they'd be lying. I think most people moan about the deal rather than the player - not his fault that we might have overpaid
So, let's see if he follows it up before some of you pat yourselves on the back because it's a bit early for 'I told you so'
I hope he does follow it up and he scores a hatful this season. I'd be very pleased to be proven wrong, as that will make us a better team with a better chance of going up

Not for me, there have been moments even before when he has shown promise, which I have mentioned a few times.
Fingers crossed he can turn that, and last night, into something really productive. If we sign another striker he may not get that chance though.

It’s not enough to judge someone who’s come to a new country, playing in a new league and was plunged into a relegation battle with a club that was in a real state.
Personally I feel you can’t judge him on anything from last season.

The fact that he hasn't played that much and we paid £2.5 million says a lot too. However, I had seen enough of him to wonder what it was we had spent a reasonable amount on
But, as I say, last night was much more like it and I hope we see that sort of thing from him from now on. Because playing consistently like that will help us and increase his worth

I’ve been a Nordas doubter. And still and sceptical. But last night and to be fair his hold up work v Coventry, does show signs of improvement.
Issue is we can’t really afford to wait. And defo couldn’t last season when we needed instant returns.
Steve Howard started slow, and if Nordas can become have the player Stevo was, that’ll be decent.

According to Transfermarkt, he’s played 320 minutes in total – so not even the equivalent of 4 full games.
I do get your post entirely, and you’re right that it’s harsh to judge someone who barely had minutes, in a new country, under tough circumstances. He may yet come good.
But the reality is the club spent a fair chunk on him and then let Woodrow go on loan, at a time when none of our strikers were scoring. That put a lot of pressure on him straight away, which made it feel like a strange, almost desperate signing.
And while it’s great that he finally showed promise last night, a decent 30 minutes against Wigan doesn’t really disprove that bigger picture… at least not yet.

I think Nordas has been utterly shite since we signed him.
And said as much on here. I think he's been incredibly underwhelming and disappointing for the supposed amount of money he cost.
But, last night, he was fairly decent in his 30 mins. More so than Yates.
Some welcome green shoots from him. Needs to kick on and get a goal now.

He came on in the 56th minute, so it was plenty longer than 15 minutes.
He certainly will have silenced a few doubters but medium term he isn’t going to lead the line of a championship chasing team.
But fair play he did what he was asked to and reminded me of the Norwich home game in 1989/90? when Iain Dowie came on and had a similar impact.
What it proves is that defences in this league don’t like a physical threat and playing Yates up front on his own doesn’t work.
If Nordas can watch a bit of early Iain Dowie and see what a PIA he became it would serve well.
Also think the new white boots help!

He did more in his cameo than Yates did the entire game. A very promising appearance I would say.
Not knocking Yates, but he doesn't look up to speed yet.

As against Bradford, Yates is just slightly mistiming his runs the whole time. Hopefully that’ll come. According to a Derby mate, he tries all game long and is great for link-up play.

Agreed. We absolutely need another striker, but it’s good that now Nordas is at least nearly there, we have valid options from him, Yates and Wells. (I refuse to countenance Woodrow as an option. Now him, I am knocking.)
