Walsh

Good last night, always showing for the ball and uses it well. A few really nice through balls.
One thing I noticed he did a lot, and usually well, is a first time cross. Catches defenders out who are expecting him to take a touch and he was putting in some dangerous balls.
If him and Baptiste can stay fit alongside Saville that is a very good midfield

Walsh is one of those players that can look the best player on the pitch and the worse player on the pitch, all within the space of a minute.

Quite a few misplaced passes as well but I do like Walsh and I think he is developing a good understanding with Clark.

The thing I like, and Alli did it as well, was when they lost the ball they worked hard to get it back.
Walsh had a bit a steel and is happy to put a challenge in. Twice last night he made a firm but fair tackle after they had skipped past Savile or Clark

Yes agreed, both teams were working very hard off the ball and there were lots of fouls so I don't think we were ever going to see much free-flowing football.

Yes, I think we've seen enough evidence to show that Walsh likes to put a challenge in. Sadly, those challenges are often, to put it politely, not great.

He was my man of the match

He was my pick behind Keeley, who kept us in it in the first half. But I think it’s either/or from Walsh and Clark. They’re too similar in a three-man midfield, imo.

I thought either Walsh or Clark but reading some comments on here seems it worked better last night. I didn’t go but like you think they are to similar and often seem to want to be in the same space.

They helped nullify Wigan, at least in the second half, but there wasn’t any pace going forward to link up with Yates - he was isolated again. It’s hard, as individually they had decent games, but there still wasn’t much athleticism, which Fanne can offer imo.
