That Oldham game was one of the most amazing I have ever seen at KR:
- a pretty frustrating first half (we somehow managed to be 0-1 down)
- then a completely devastating performance, turning it around almost before the half-time oranges had been swallowed
- an absolutely brilliant debut performance from David Moss (how did he cost only 100,000 pounds?)
- but all the others (Kirk, Stein, Hill, Fucillo, Donaghy, Hatton, etc.) really turned it on.
Oldham were lucky to be thrashed by only 6-1.
A day to remember for the rest of your life.

Home fans only as one of the stands had been knocked down (and its replacement subsequently bulldozed) - like many others I bought a ticket for £12 from a tout outside Seven Sisters tube station. When Wegerle scored it became evident that a lot of others had done the same.

I’m pretty sure Outsider was one of them….

I was there but Paul Deason (how can it be 19 years next month since he died) worked in London so just went to the ground and bought a couple of tickets when they went on sale - no memberships or databases in those days (except at Luton).

I remember Cherry Newbury walking in and smiling (yes, really) and nodding at a few Luton fans in our section.
