Bobby Pointon, looked very good to me yesterday. Quick, great touch, good positional sense. Only 21.

Perhaps we should try to poach Max Power: the perfect player for our new ground. And I still can't work out why we keep shedding young talents such as Neufville, who then go on to success elsewhere.

I think the dilemma with Neufville was he was about 22 at the time and had been out on many loans elsewhere.
He left us the summer we got promoted to the Premier League which I guessed was deemed, by those in charge, a step too far at the time.
Shame really as watching him yesterday he was pretty solid and understandably, like a lot of the Bradford team, up for the battle.

Can see him going same way sadly.

How do you work that ouet? Neufville was never a regular part of the first team squad, as Zak is. Nor did he make the appearances Zak already has.
(And he was never as promising as Zak is, either)
Perhaps you're just trying to make yet another negative point.

Not negative. But there comes a point where you’re either going to become a first team regular or you’re not.

Nelson is a first team regular already, if you take it as a participating member of the match day squad. Next step is regular starter.
Not bad progress after his 'break through season' last year.

Appreciate he is young and still learning but from what I have seen not sure he is good enough. Really hope I am wrong and he turns into another JJ ( who very weirdly is getting abuse from the Leicester fans ) we will have him back please.

Fingers crossed that’s how it goes However so much pressure on whoever is Luton town manager that it can become let’s say challenging to play youngsters in league games. Same as Walter’s , if we get on a good run and find a rhythm this season far easier to accommodate them

Absolutely spot on. Will be a balance of experienced players designed to get us up this season and bringing younger ones through (signed or coming through academy).
Understand reactions to Saturday but some are leaping on it for their anti 2020/GS campaigns. Including some absolute shites stirring in the background.

Tbh. I hate playing newly promoted sides early on. So I thought it wouldn’t be an easy game. Only good thing is a home game straight away to try and get it out of the system so to speak. These are tough old leagues. We aren’t going to blow many sides away by half time . They are mainly very well organised and tough and physical The thing about tempering expectations is correct even if some don’t want to hear it.

What do you mean?
He was awesome for the twenty minutes he was on in that friendly against Basingstoke Town!
(Okay, he wasn't )

Then there was that Beds Cup game at Biggleswade where we shipped nine goals with him playing at RB/RWB.

There seem to be a lot of duplicate posts recently where I definitely haven't pressed Post twice - several others seem to have had the same problem.

He was no Adam Watkins, that's for sure!
Glad to see him doing well, as with all (well, most) of our ex youth players. Though we could have done with having a stinker on Saturday of course. What a disappointing performance.
Should have known when train travel became an absolute mare, that it was going to be 'one of those days'

Our Uber from Manchester to Bradford was £37 between 4 of us. Which was decent. Fair fucks to Muhammad aswell. Stuck his go faster stripes on the side of his bat mobile and had us there in 40 mins!

That's good going - and a very decent price! Did you Uber back, too? We stayed in Bradford until quite late and got a train back easily enough though with more cancellations and delays.
According to my Bradford mate, it was the same the previous weekend (though the reverse journey) so not buying this 'signal failing' as a one-off...

Had a few pints in town and got a train about 7ish, no problems at all. Got as far as Wilmslow then bus replacement service from there.
I've had easier days travelling but take away the 90 minutes of football it was still a quality day out

I managed to get to one station from before disaster struck. Changed at Newton le Willows where I too had a train cancelled on me, I had to spend an extra hour in the pub

It was depressing enough just watching the stats updating on the BBC website let alone being there !
But it is good to see youth products like him doing well, and I do seriously hope that Johnson and Nelson are successful here. I think it would be a major, major thing for our academy.

No doubt about that Mike! Though the quality of our goal was a bright point. Definitely work in progress.
Unfortunate performance and result, but I'm sure lessons learned.

Watching Nelson on Saturday when he came on, I thought he linked up play well on the right hand side with Kodua.
For Nelson, I think it all hinges on whether he can become one of the three in centre midfield, he seems best suited playing further up the pitch linking the midfield and attackers.
