    Temu Levy

A brilliant title for our CEO, suggested by one of our regular posters on here. BBB I think.
We have a couple of weeks left to invest in some real quality to get us out of this sh*t division.
A couple of decent premier loans would do it.

That's just disrespectful nonsense. GS and 2020 saved the club when nobody would go near it. It took fans of the club to buy it and take on its liabilities to prevent it going bust like Hereford , Bury etc. There was no ground included as not owned by the club either. We were a shambles and we should have folded after Gurney. Memories are short. Last season excepted the club have been an amazing success story since they took over. Without any of the 'seedy' stuff from our 80s heyday too. Our football at the moment is poor but anyone can see we're probably 2 players short of a promotion contending team . Our challenges are on the recruitment side and have been for some time. GS and 2020 are our only consistent strength. The clueless criticism of the Board has to be a troll wind up surely ?

It was 17 years ago and we are all very grateful.
However imo with a couple of quality signings ( it will mean spending money ) we can di what Birmingham did last year.
To not get promoted this year with our advantage over the rest of the league is a fucking disaster.

We've needed a DoF since Dabo launched his penalty to Heathrow.

Sweet is doing, PC aside, an awful job. In any other walk of life he would have been fired after WBA.

Agree in general but I think we're 4 1st team players short of being a top 2 contender

Be nice if the sicknotes returned at some point soon too as that'd help

My thoughts exactly, 4 players light at this stage. I'm not one for throwing money around but I do think at the moment something drastic needs to be done.

Otherwise a season of mid-table mediocrity or worse beckons.

A “Gary Parker” would be a perfect fit as one of the signings.

When we talk about the supposed quality of our younger players I simply cannot make any comparison between players like Nelson and JJ when we had such gems sitting in the reserves 40 years ago.

Sadly he's earned the name. They blokes who saved the club are legendary but legends become tarnished if you can't see what's going on from your ivory tower. Sweet is on here all the time, he's probably a regular poster, and he sees all this. Trouble is he is too pigheaded to let go a bit and leave the football to someone who gets it. The job is too big for him alone and he clearly pushes away people who don't agree. He seems good at the building side. Do that then.

              Be the bigger man Gary.

Frak , if you were Gary Sweet would you spend ANY time on here? Seriously? Why would he?? This is not the place to get any feel for the club culture or sense of fan feelings. Most that post on here are the 'outliers' whether they realise it or not. Either way too negative and unrealistic or the 'happy clapper' type. Clearly I fit into the latter and you can see where the 'GS/2020 out' folk fit. Being in L1 again is totally shit but we're still not far away from our natural level and just a few short years ago we were struggling in the Conference.

He's spent plenty of time on this messageboard. Why wouldn't he come on here? Some of the comments are over the top but he's been about long enough to get that but he'd be silly not to look at all levels of social media to get a balanced view of the fans opinions.

Oh and the 'temu Levy' comment was a throw away bit of a giggle. No need to get upset mate.

A few short years ago? It was 11 years ago, however it was 2 years ago we were in the Premier League. Everyone knows what they did for the club but stop using it as an excuse for what is happening now? We were good enough to reach the PL 2 years ago so basically we have capitulated.

We were two players short of staying in the Premier League.

We were two players short of staying up last season.

What makes you think we will sign them now?

That's not relevant to my post. Read it again. I even said the challenges are around recruitment so in answer to your question there is nothing at present makes me think we will sign them now. I won't be calling for new owners or to replace GS though. I'll be asking what's gone so wrong with our recruitment. It was excellent during NJ's tenure. What's now missing other than the man himself?

                          And that's the answer.

I have no idea if that's an issue. If you have some inside knowledge then fair enough. I just would think a CEO with the biggest LTFC project on his hands in its lifetime would be too busy ensuring that goes well to interfere with football matters. Like I say if you know different then fair enough and I would be massively disappointed and surprised if that is the case.
