    Transfer strategy

Posted by The Surveyor on 17/8/2025, 8:32:27

For many years we recruited players that got us established in a division, promoted and then established in the next division up.

I think we are doing it in reverse at the moment.

How many players have we got that would establish us in the championship, if we were to get promoted?

      There is no strategy.

      All hail, glorious leader.

In more words: Keeley, Lonwijk, Kodua, maybe Yates.

I’d add Fanne to that. Our good run of form at the end of last season, was when he was playing in a box to box role, alongside another DM.

Fuck knows why Bloomfield has gone all Edwards and started fannying (pun intended) about with him out of position. He’s not great technically, and has little composure in the final third, to be a successful number 10.

He reminds me of a Pelly type. Very athletic and physical, but limited technically. Played most of his career either as a 6 or an 8.

Agreed - I was going just on the close-season transfers with long-term potential.

Hopefully the players at the end/last years will have enough to get us outta this lege and the younger players come good.

I imagine the strategy is to buy 2 players mega decent and mega value in the week ahead, then we will be happy
