    What Made Luton, Luton?

What are we missing versus the season we went up to the Prem?

We’re missing a Welsh gremlin making the players work harder than they ever have before in their lives making us really hard to beat.

100% this. But how would it have played out if he'd stayed? We had seemingly hit a ceiling with him. How long would people have been OK with that? What if he had got us promoted? Could his ego have coped with relegation? Could he have rebuilt? Interesting either way. It wouldn't be this I don't think.

        All hail, glorious leader.

NJ influence, belief, system, strong personalities, vision, quality, understanding, togetherness.

Edwards was lucky to inherit it and add Nakamba the year we went up.

Quite a lot. A mobile front two, a balanced and organised back three, natural width, a defensive wall at the back of midfield in Nakamba.

Pelly, Clark, Campbell probably weren't that amazing in truth and the team lacked creativity but we had such a direct all-action style and solid spine that it didn't matter.

Now... We've got a haphazard back line, no width from the full backs, no equivalent to Nakamba dominating midfield, and neat clever strikers who rely on more creativity behind them which we don't have.

On the pitch? Nastiness, an identity, steel, incredible work rate, brilliant team spirit combined with being humble, grounded and never taking anything for granted

And that goes from 2014 to about 2022/23 not just the PL promotion season

What a position we were in even 12 months ago. We have utterly fucked it in such a short space of time

You can't be nasty anymore, Saville miss times one tackle and we'd have to take him off.
Some of the bookings these days are a joke, can't refs see the theatrical way players get opposition players booked.
Ref today should be struck off league football, gave them everything and weak to give us anything.

You can be horrible and stay within the rules of the game. Other sides used to hate playing us

Now, they must be rubbing their hands in anticipation

Team bonding. Not something you can force. You need the luck of 3 or 4 people that others want to be around.
