Chris Philp aka the bloody shadow foreign secretary

This is an actual post on X yesterday. Lunatics have actually taken over the example.

It is astonishing that Labour councillor Ricky Jones, who was caught on video calling for throats to be slit, is let off scot free - whereas Lucy Connolly got 31 months prison for posting something no worse.
The development of two tier justice is becoming increasingly alarming.
It cannot have been a question of uncertain evidence as Jones was on video clearly calling for violence.
The government must come forward with plans to ensure justice is handed out equally, regardless of the background or views of the perpetrator - but as far as I can see this Labour government seems to be quite happy with two tier justice.

The Shadow FS parroting far right conspiracy theories to try and seek attention like he’s always done. Madness. Actually questioning the legitimacy of a jury trial.
Re: Chris Philp aka the bloody shadow foreign secretary
I haven’t sat through the evidence presented to the jury so wouldn’t want to comment. What I would say is that the judiciary, sometimes through jury trials, and not the state deciding people’s guilt is a fundamental cornerstone of our democracy, warts and all
Re: Chris Philp aka the bloody shadow foreign secretary
For completeness, August 2024 - A Labour spokesman said: "This behaviour is completely unacceptable and it will not be tolerated." "The councillor has been suspended from the party."
Snaresbrook Crown Court is local to Ricky Jones and the jury so there could be a case for an out of town trial - which might have been seen to be fairer by all. Same result might have been given, we'll never know. But it raises an issue as the Tory bloke said.
Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
Re: Chris Philp aka the bloody shadow foreign secretary
Were Ricky Jones comments acceptable? Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
Re: Chris Philp aka the bloody shadow foreign secretary
To answer your previous question about where the trial should have been - the (Claiton/Clacton reference was unecessary - it could have been anywhere. There is only one Crown Court which means it can sit anywhere in the country (usually at another Crown Court Centre but it doesn't have to be). There are procedures in place for either party to ask for an out of town trial - arguments are put, listened to and decided by the Judge taking into account the law including case law. If the law is not there then the Government may need to put it into place - it would be an interesting debate. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
Re: Chris Philp aka the bloody shadow foreign secretary
It was up to the prosecution in this case to draw up a list to put to the court. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
Re: Chris Philp aka the bloody shadow foreign secretary
Drivel. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
Re: Chris Philp aka the bloody shadow foreign secretary
You want me to debate that ridiculous 9.37 post. -
First sentence - Drivel Second sentence - they are terrorist supporters so that's the law. Third sentence - Drivel Forth sentence - Drivel
So my drivel post was an accurate debating comment. . Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
Re: Chris Philp aka the bloody shadow foreign secretary
I was showering etc. Is that allowed? Yes or no will do. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
Re: Chris Philp aka the bloody shadow foreign secretary
On perhaps a slightly different tack, there's always been a tier justice system. In tbe same way there's always been a two tier education system, a two tier health care system, a two tier property market etc.
Why do these people who bang on about two tier think that this is anything new? In fact I don't seem recall those that are spouting such things having a problem with it when their preferred government was in power...Live justly, love mercy, perpetuate generosity, walk humbly.
Re: Chris Philp aka the bloody shadow foreign secretary
It's a very relevant comparison, the sheer hypocrisy of a Tory complaining about two tier justice and pretending it is something new is, well I would say embarrassing, but it seems par for the course in our politics these days . . .
Re: Chris Philp aka the bloody shadow foreign secretary
Exc ept when a PM new to the job wants to display a backbone he really knows he doesn't have and labels mothers and fathers protesting about their kids lives being at risk as Far Right and sets up 24 hour courts to send them dowm.
