Coventry tickets

Anyone able to think of a valid reason why you can’t just buy a ticket on the night for a first round league cup game? Am in the area this evening so thought I’d go but tickets go off sale at 12.00 and need to be collected from the Luton ticket office (though possibly might be blue to collect at Coventry). Not sure why Coventry would want to discourage walk up fans from a low profile game? Thought the whole ticket buying process might be easier now we’re in league 1!

Whilst I agree with you entirely, although we are in L1, Coventry aren't.

Yes I realise that, the ‘league 1’ bit was more a comment on the season in general rather than this particular match. Plus it’s the league cup first round FFS!

As I said, I agree entirely.
Years ago, we were on the way to Bolton and the game was called off. We diverted to Old Trafford where Man U were playing QPR. We arrived at 2.55 and paid on the gate (and we were able to pay using good old cash). We were on the way to Millwall for Pleat's first game in charge. Again, it was called off so we diverted to Arsenal v Wolves.
Oddly enough I was at the arsenal v wolves game that day also( if memory serves was it a Fa cup game?)when Millwall was called off and Nantwich for the postponed Bolton game. Advertised in the newspaper as a league game which when we arrived was told that it was played the previous night but they had an A versus B team game which was handy to get a ground in at least.

The days of being able to pay cash on the gate are over I'm afraid.

Go to a non league game if there is one. They'll snatch your hand off for the cash.
